Gophers Celebrate Christmas In Tempe With Afternoon Meal and Program

The Gopher football team may be miles away from Minnesota and basking in the warmth of the Arizona sun, but that didn't prevent them from spreading a little holiday cheer on Christmas Day at the team hotel as the Gophers held an afternoon meal and short program.

After the holiday meal, Coach Mason started the program by making a few comments before turning the microphone over to his Christmas carolers, offensive guard Nedward Tavale, defensive end Willie VanDeSteeg and linebacker Mike Sherels. Following a round of songs, the entire team joined their teammates on stage to sing before Santa Claus (Carey Bailey) and his elves (the GAs) burst through the door bringing presents to the Gopher contingent.
