The University of Minnesota football team held its final practice in Tempe in preparation for Friday's Insight Bowl against Texas Tech. The Golden Gophers held a short morning workout at Corona Del Sol High School. The team's walk-through at Sun Devil Stadium was cancelled due to the field being covered in anticipation of rain tonight.

Today was also a busy day for head coach Glen Mason. After holding his press conference at the media headquarters, he headed to downtown Tempe to take part in the annual bowl 'Sota Social. Over 1,000 Gopher fans gathered for the pep fest which featured Mason, athletics director Joel Maturi, the University of Minnesota marching band and the spirit squads.

After temperatures hit the 70s earlier in the week, today's pep rally saw overcast skies and temperatures in the 50s. The Friday forecast calls for another day in the 50s with the temperature dropping by game time.

The Insight Bowl will begin at 7 p.m. Central on Friday night. The game can be seen on the NFL Network and listened to on the Gopher Radio Network and in the Gold Zone. A full replay of the game will be available in the Gold Zone on Saturday night.
