Each week, we field several questions about what roles different individuals may play in the recruiting process. For example:

Each week, we field several questions about what roles different individuals may play in the recruiting process. For example:
May we ask the AD to send a letter to our top recruit?
- No, all correspondence must originate from coaches other than the volunteer coach.
- No, under the guidelines from the NCAA recruiting task force, only full-time staff or student-athletes in the recruit’s sport may give tours.
- No, the NCAA makes exceptions for spouses only.
- No, per institutional policy, a student manager may not provide transportation to a prospect.
- No, while a booster or alumnus is permitted to field a call from a prospect, they are limited in what they can say; boosters and alumni are limited to discussing the institution as a whole, and may not actively participate in athletics recruiting.
- Yes, paid athletic staff members are permitted to give campus tours. Remember, staff members may have off-campus contact with the prospect only on official visits..
