Golden Gopher distance runners Ladia Albertson-Junkans and Lauren Williams took advantage of a top-notch field of 5,000-meter runners at the Stanford Nike Invitational to post NCAA regional qualifying times on Friday night. Albertson-Junkans, a sophomore cross country All-American, was clocked in 16 minutes, 41.84 seconds in her first 5K race of her collegiate track career, placing 14th. Williams finished with a time of 16:47 to place 18th.

A trio of Gopher long jumpers notched top-five finishes. Competing in the open session of the event, freshman Christin Kingsley placed third at 19-5 1/4, the best effort of her young Minnesota career. Sarah Nelson added a fifth-place showing with a leap of 19-2. Christine Tvrdik placed second in the B Session of the long jump with mark of 17-10 3/4.

Another top-5 finish for the Gophers came from Ashley Nord in the Session B pole vault. Nord cleared a height of 12-0.
