Gopher Football Fan Fest Scheduled For Saturday, Aug. 19th

The University of Minnesota football team will hold its annual Golden Gopher Fan Fest, highlighted by an open scrimmage from 1 – 3 p.m., next Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex on the outdoor practice field.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with free pizza and free soda while supplies last. The Gopher football team will warm-up at 1 p.m., and the scrimmage will run between 1:45 - 3 p.m.

Fans will be able to purchase season tickets, football media guides and 16-month Gopher football calendars. Also available at the Fan Fest will be free Gopher yard signs, posters, schedule cards and magnets to gear up for the 2006 season. The Little Brown Jug will also be on hand for fans to get pictures with and there will be interactive games and activities for kids on the Bierman Track. Lawn chairs are recommended for those attending the Fan Fest.

Following the scrimmage, Gopher players will be available for autographs in the indoor practice facility.

The Gophers' scrimmage this Saturday, Aug. 12 is closed to the media and public.
