When/where did you first start cheering?  I started cheering my freshman year of high school at Hutchinson High School

What made you want to cheer at the University of Minnesota?  Throughout the years of attending the U of M cheer competition I was amazed by the talent of the team members and told myself that someday I would be on the team!

What is your favorite part about cheering for the Gophers?  My favorite part about cheering for the Gophers is wearing the M with pride on my chest and holding my head high as I walk through campus; knowing that I hold myself to a different standard than any other student at the University.  It is so great to represent my University as I take part in an activity I love to do!

Who is your favorite Gopher athlete?  Emily Fox (#4 on the Women’s Basketball team) is my favorite athlete at the University because out of all that I have met, she has been the most down-to-earth, friendly, and caring of all the athletes here at the University of Minnesota.  I feel that she the perfect face for Gopher athletics!

What non-cheer accomplishment are you most proud of?  I am very proud to have made it onto the Dean’s List here at the University of Minnesota three out of my four semesters here.

What do you like to do when you aren’t cheering on the Gophers?  In my free time after studies, cheer, and work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, boating and tubing, and rollerblading.

Do you have any tips for high school cheerleaders who want to continue on in college?  My advice to high school students that plan to continue on with cheer in college would be to stay persistent; if you do not make the team the first time you try out, just work hard for a year on what you need to improve on and try out the next year! Never give up!
