The Minnesota-Nebraska volleyball match, which will be played on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. in Lincoln, Neb., will be shown live on CSTV. The match is being broadcasted originally by Nebraska Educational Television and the live feed will be picked up and carried nationally on CSTV.
It will mark the first time since 2004 that the Golden Gophers have appeared on CSTV. In 2004, Minnesota had two matches carried on CSTV. Those matches included a five-game victory over Florida on Sept. 11, 2004 and a five-game win in the NCAA Regional Finals over Ohio State on Dec. 11, 2004 at the Sports Pavilion that sent Minnesota to the Final Four.
With the addition of that match, Minnesota is now slated to be on television four times this season. This will be the Golden Gophers first appearance. Minnesota will also have several tape-delayed television appearances this season. The Golden Gophers will be on ESPN 2 on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. against Purdue in Williams Arena. Minnesota will have two tape-delayed appearances on Comcast Chicago at Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 12 p.m. and against Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 12 p.m.
CSTV is located on channel 610 on DIRECTV, and is part of the premium sports package. It also part of the premium sports package on Time Warner and Comcast Cable in the Twin Cities.
