Throughout the 2007 Minnesota Soccer season, gophersports.com will regularly post web "diary" entry from Golden Gophers Sara Johnson and Kaitlin Wagner. Today, Kaitlin writes in about the school year thus far and Minnesota's upcoming matches with Ohio State and Penn State.
Hi again! Like Sara said we are struggling to put together a win. However, this week is the turnaround point I’m sure of it! We have spent endless hours on the field and in the classroom learning as much as we can from our last five games. Each one of us has something specific they are working on and going to apply to our games this weekend. This Sunday is also senior day and we are honoring the three seniors that have led this team for four years. All of us appreciate all they have done for our program and been a part of the turn around!
It’s nice to be at home again playing in our amazing stadium. A home weekend allows all of us to relax just a little more during the week. We don’t miss any classes, so Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are a little less stressful than on a weekend when we travel. Midterms have been taking place over the last couple of weeks, so having a home weekend will benefit those who have tests. It is weird that we are only a month and half into the school year. It seems we have been in class forever. I’m sure the freshmen feel a little differently but now that I’m on the home stretch, it seems to drag.
We hope to see all of you out at ELR this weekend! You will want to be there when the Gophers take down two really good teams in Ohio State and Penn State. Also, we are trying to break an attendance record on Friday night so bring all of your friends and family with you to support!
