Minnesota Falls at No. 19 Michigan 34-10

The Minnesota football team (1-8, 0-5) lost 34-10 on the road to No. 19 Michigan (7-2, 5-0) on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Minnesota jumped out to a 10-0 lead after a 29-yard field by Joel Monroe in the first quarter, and a 41-yard fumble returned for a touchdown by Dom Barber in the second quarter at the 14:48 mark.
The Golden Gophers led 10-6 late in the second quarter, until Brandon Minor scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to give Michigan its first lead of the game, 13-10, with three minutes remaining in the first half.
Michigan pushed their lead to 20-10 late in the third quarter when Carlos Brown scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with four minutes remaining in the quarter. The Wolverines moved it to 34-10 in the fourth quarter on a 40-yard touchdown reception by Mario Manningham and an 85-yard touchdown run by Brown to cap off the scoring.
Duane Bennett ran for 106 yards, becoming the first Gopher freshman to surpass the mark since Laurence Maroney in 2003. Minnesota's freshman quarterback, Adam Weber, completed 14 of 30 passes for 99 yards and a fumble.
Manningham had five receptions for a career-high 162 yards and a victory-sealing touchdown early in the fourth quarter, helping No. 19 Michigan pull away.
Michigan claimed "the Little Brown Jug" for the second year in a row, winning for the first time at home since the Golden Gophers claimed it in 2005.Brandon Minor and Carlos Brown, who were filling in for an injured Mike Hart, each ran for more than 100 yards and combined for three scores. Minor had 21 carries for a career-high 157 yards and a touchdown for the game.
Michigan Freshman Ryan Mallett was 11-for-20 for 233 yards, a score and the fumble that Barber returned for a touchdown.
Minnesota will be back in action when it faces Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Metrodome. That game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
