Gophers vs. Florida State
The Gophers and Seminoles are meeting for the sixth time in each school’s history, with each team winning three. FSU won the last meeting 70-69 in the 2004 ACC/Big Ten Challenge but the Gophers won the previous two meetings 76-71 during the 2000-01 season and 79-66 in 1980-81 season.
FSU is led by guard Isaiah Swann, who is averaging 16.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. The Seminoles are 5-2 this season with victories coming against Nicholls State, Georgia Southern, Alabama-Birmingham, Georgia State and Florida.

Senior Lawrence McKenzie started for the 56th time in his career, whileLawrence Westbrook made just the fourth of his career... in the front-court, Abu-Shamala collected his 32nd career start, Coleman made the 67th of his career and Tollackson notched his 36th start as a Gopher... through three games, Head Coach Tubby Smith has now used three different starting lineups.
With the win the Gophers sit at 3-0, the first time the team has opened with wins in each of its first three games since the 2002-03 team also started 3-0.
With the win, Minnesota now leads its all-time series vs. Central Michigan 2-0... The Golden Gophers defeated the Chippewas, 77-63, in 2004 at Williams Arena in the first meeting between the two programs... also, the Gophers improved to 11-2 against MAC teamswhile Head Coach Tubby Smith upped his all-time record vs. the league to 7-0.
The Gophers outrebounded Central Michigan 35-21 and have
now out rebounded all three of its opponents this season. Minnesota has outrebounded its opponents by an average of 9.0 per game.
Minnesota held its third straight opponent under 41 percent shooting from the floor.
Spencer Tollackson and Lawrence McKenzie have now scored in double figures in each of the last two games. Tollackson has scored in double figures 27 times in his career, while McKenzie has hit double-digit points 54 times.

Tubby Smith has never faced a Florida State team as a head coach but has an overall record of 18-11 against other ACC opponents. Coach Smith also has never faced Boston College, North Carolina State or Wake Forest.
