Sophomore forward Gigi Marvin (Warroad, Minn.) has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Offensive Player of the Week for her performance against St. Cloud State last weekend. It is the first offensive player of the week award in her career and her sixth weekly honor in her two-year tenure, earning the rookie of the week award five times last year. It is the the Gophers' seventh weekly conference honor this season and second in back-to-back weeks.

Marvin set up two power-play goals in last Friday’s 4-0 victory over the Huskies in Minneapolis and also held a plus/minus rating of +2. She then followed with another two-point performance last Saturday when she scored a power-play goal and added an assist on the game-winning goal as the visiting Golden Gophers came from behind to down St. Cloud State, 6-4. In the second half of the season, Marvin has tallied 14 points.

Marvin and the Gophers will host the Bemidji State Beavers, Feb. 9-10 at Ridder Arena. Friday's game will be at 7 p.m., while Saturday's is at 3 p.m. The Feb. 10 game marks the final regular season home game for the year and the final home game for seniors Andrea Nichols, Maggie Souba and Becky Wacker.
