STORYLINES
• Both teams arrive in Ann Arbor after mid-week losses. Minnesota lost at home to Iowa, 91-78, and Michigan lost at Ohio State, 76-63.
• After missing seven games with a broken left (non-shooting) hand, Minnesota junior center Spencer Tollackson was back in action on Wednesday and led the team with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting in 34 minutes.
• Michigan leads the all-time series 70-56 (not including vacated games). The Wolverines lead 46-18 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Michigan won two of three meetings last season.
• The last Gophers win in the series was a 59-55 victory on March 9, 2006, in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.
• Both coaching staffs are wearing sneakers in support of the NABC’s Coaches Vs. Cancer Awareness Weekend.

MATCHUP
Both teams hope to end losing streaks tonight in Ann Arbor. The Gophers have dropped two straight after winning two in a row. Michigan started the Big Ten slate at 4-1, but have lost the last four and are desperate to get back on the winning side of the ledger. The Wolverines are 14-2 at home this season with their only losses coming last week to Iowa and on Dec. 30 to Georgetown.

SCOUTING the WOLVERINES

Michigan is 4-5 in the conference and is in desperate need of a win after losing four straight after winning four of its first five in conference play. The Wolverines are led by a senior class of Lester Abram, Dion Harris, Courtney Sims and Brent Petway. Sims leads the Wolverines in both scoring and rebounding at 13.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg. Harris is the other Wolverine averaging in double figures at 12.7 ppg. Harris is hitting threes at a .359 clip (46-128). Abram has stepped up his play in conference action averaging 11.3 points in 30.9 minutes of action.
