Single-Session Tickets for NCAA Championship on Sale Monday

Single-session tickets for the first and second round games in the 2007 NCAA Div. I Women’s Basketball Tournament will be for sale beginning on Monday, March 12 at 9 a.m. First round games at Williams Arena in Minneapolis will be held on March 17, with second round games being played on March 19. The NCAA will announce the tournament field at the selection show, which will be aired live on ESPN at 7 p.m. central on Monday, March 12.

Tickets may be ordered through the Minnesota athletics website at www.gophersports.com, or by calling the athletics ticket office at 612-624-8080 or toll free at 1-800-U-GOPHER. Single-session tickets are good for two games, while the all-session tickets are good for all six games held in Minneapolis. There will be two sessions on Saturday, March 17, and a third session on Monday, March 19.

Single-session ticket prices are as follows:
$26 chair-back seats (all ages)
$21 bench seats (adults)
$16 bench seats (youth, students, seniors)
$12 bench seats (group tickets for groups of 15 or more)

All session ticket prices are as follows:
$50 chair-back seats (all ages)
$40 bench seats (adults)
$30 bench seats (youth, students, seniors)
$24 bench seats (group tickets for groups of 15 or more)

There is also a limited number of special ticket packages remaining. The special ticket package includes a single session ticket, a hot dog (or pretzel) and a soda for $10.

All eight teams competing in Minneapolis will hold a practice on Friday, March 16 that will be open to the public. Practices will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Williams Arena. For a full schedule of events, visit www.gophersports.com.

The University of Minnesota will serve as a host institution for opening rounds of the tournament for the third time in four seasons, as Williams Arena was also the site of first and second round games in 2004 and 2005. The University of Minnesota is one of eight institutions to host first and second round games in 2007. The other seven sites and host institutions are: Austin, Texas (University of Texas); Stanford, Calif. (Stanford University); Los Angeles, Calif. (University of Southern California); East Lansing, Mich. (Michigan State University); Hartford, Conn. (University of Connecticut); Pittsburgh, Pa. (University of Pittsburgh); and Raleigh, N.C. (North Carolina State University).
