The University of Minnesota held Pro Timing Day at the Gibson-Nagurksi Football Complex for their draft eligible players and a handful of players from other small colleges in Minnesota.

Former Gopher defensive back Trumaine Banks, defensive lineman Eric Clark, receiver Logan Payne and linebacker Mario Reese represented the Gophers at Pro Timing Day. The day started for the players at 10 a.m., as they were measured for height and weight. At 10:30 a.m., the testing began with a procession of vertical jump, standing broad jump, bench press (reps of 225 lbs.), 40-yard dash and shuttle run.

Around 17 scouts were on hand to test and record the information on each athlete. John Mackey Award winner Matt Spaeth did not participate in Pro Timing Day due to his shoulder injury, but he plans to hold his own timing day before the draft when his shoulder is more suitable for testing.

One of the highlights of the day was a 39-inch vertical leap recorded by Logan Payne. Payne was happy with his day overall and may potentially test again when Spaeth holds his timing day later in the spring.

"Overall I was happy with my performance, but you are never quite satisfied," said Payne. "There were some things I did today that I was really pleased with and some things I wish I could have done a little better on, but I think I helped myself overall. I have received good feedback from the scouts so far."
