Softball Doubleheader at Penn State Cancelled Due to Rain

Rain continued to dampen the opening weekend of Big Ten play for the Golden Gopher softball team. After a three hour rain delay, Penn State and Minnesota tried to play at least one game of Sunday's scheduled doubleheader but were unable to finish an official five inning game due to the weather and unplayable field conditions. The games will not be rescheduled.

The Gophers (13-14, 0-2 Big Ten) will play at home for the first time of the season next weekend when they host Iowa and Illinois at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. Minnesota will face the Hawkeyes on Friday at 6 p.m., and Saturday at noon before Illinois comes to town on Sunday for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon.
