Minnesota Sweeps Through Final Spring Tournament
The Minnesota volleyball team continued to have a strong spring season as it swept through all four matches in its final spring tournament at the Sports Pavilion on Sunday, Apr. 22.
Minnesota swept two games from Montana State in the first contest 30-15, 30-17, and defeated the Bobcats 30-18 and 30-11 in the second meeting of the day.
The Golden Gophers also defeated South Dakota State 30-22, 32-30 and 15-7 in the three games in the first meeting of the day. In the second meeting, Minnesota won both games by scores of 30-18 and 32-30
Last week, Minnesota swept two games from Northern Iowa 30-21 and 30-22, split a pair of games with South Dakota State 30-27 and 21-30 and won 2-1 over Iowa State 30-20, 25-30 and 30-26.
On Apr. 14, the Golden Gophers won five of the seven games they played against Iowa State at the Sports Pavilion.
Minnesota also won six of the eight games it played in a tournament featuring Florida, Notre Dame and Washington State in the first week of the spring season.
The Golden Gophers unofficially went 9-1-3 in the spring season, and won 23 of the 31 games they played.
