Minnesota-Michigan Series Cancelled
Minnesota's doubleheader against Michigan on Sunday, Apr. 8 has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions. With today's doubleheader being wiped out, the Golden Gophers' four-game series with the Wolverines has been cancelled.
In the first two Big Ten weekends Minnesota has lost five of a possible eight Big Ten games to weather. After getting rained out last week against Penn State, the Golden Gophers had below freezing temperatures and snow wipe out all four games of their series against Michigan.
Minnesota has had its last six games cancelled (Penn State, 3/31 & Michigan, 4/6-8) or postponed (North Dakota State, 4/4). The Golden Gophers last played on Saturday, Mar. 31 at Penn State.
Heading into the weekend, Minnesota was 17-6 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten play this season.
Minnesota is scheduled to play at Northern Iowa on Wednesday, Apr. 11 at 3 p.m. The Golden Gophers will then host their first home Big Ten series against Iowa at Siebert Field on Apr. 13-15. Minnesota will face the Hawkeyes in a single game on Friday, Apr. 13 at 3:05 p.m., in a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 14 at 1:05 p.m. and then Sunday, Apr. 15 at 1:05 p.m.
