Gophers Meet Masters Champion Zach Johnson

The jacket wasn’t green, but instead a hue of Drake blue. Still, 2007 Masters Tournament champion Zach Johnson received plenty of attention when he visited Drake Stadium, the site of the NCAA Midwest Region Track & Field Championships on Thursday. A few Golden Gopher women’s tracksters took the opportunity to grab a photo with Iowa’s newest sports celebrity.
Johnson, a Drake graduate, was in Des Moines for a ceremony honoring today as “Zach Johnson Day, in the state of Iowa. A ceremony was held in his honor at the State Capitol.
