5/3/2007 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Minnesota senior Kelly Roysland is one of four students from the College of Education and Human Development to receive the prestigious President’s Student Leadership Award. Overall, 43 undergraduate students will be presented the award at tonight’s President’s Award Banquet in Coffman Memorial Union.
The annual award recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding student leaders to the University of Minnesota.
Roysland played four seasons for the Golden Gopher women’s basketball team, serving as the team’s lone captain for the 2006-07 season. She earned All-Big Ten and team most valuable players honors in her senior campaign and finished 12th on the Gophers’ all-time career scorers list with 1,074 points.
“Receiving this award means a great deal to me,” said Roysland. “It is an honor for me to be recognized for my leadership qualities and for trying to be a positive influence within our basketball family as well as the University community. A big thanks to Pam Borton for nominating me and helping me develop into a positive leader and role model.”
