Minnesota Volleyball Remains at No. 12 in CSTV/AVCA Poll

The Minnesota volleyball team is ranked No. 12 in the CSTV/AVCA Top 25 poll, which was released on Monday, Sept. 24. Minnesota received 830 points this week, which was up 22 from the week before.

Minnesota has been ranked in 78 of the last 85 polls dating back to 2002. The Golden Gophers have now been ranked No. 12 or higher in 11 of the last 13 weeks dating back to the 2006 season.

This past week, Minnesota swept Purdue and Indiana at home to open up the Big Ten season. The Golden Gophers have won 22 of their last 25 Big Ten contests dating back to the end of the 2005 season.

Minnesota was among four Big Ten teams that were ranked in this week’s poll. Penn State is No. 3, Wisconsin sits at No. 9 and Michigan is No. 11. The Big Ten has four of the top 12 teams in the top 25 in this week’s poll.

The Golden Gophers will play their first Big Ten road match of the year at Iowa on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. Minnesota will also face No. 11 Michigan at the Sports Pavilion on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m.
