Miami Players

Quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh

On if he was surprised when the coach called him in:
“He (Shane Montgomery) pointed at me and said get loose’. I didn’t know when he was going to put me in or if he was going to put me in at all. He just said to go throw the ball. After they scored to go up by 16, he said you got this series’. I went out there and just tried to get first downs.”

On what his mind-set was when entering the game:
“I was just thinking about working on moving the chains, give the offense a little momentum. I wanted to give the team a score and see what we could do after that.”

On the feeling on the sideline when the team was down 16 points:
“We never count ourselves out of any game. We are Miami and we pride ourselves being the best and being able to compete with anybody in the country. We go out with the mentality that we can win any game in any situation and we don’t ever give up. We just wanted to get the ball back and get some points on the board”

On scoring 16 points in the final 12:37 of regulation play to tie the score at 28-28:
“We get excited after any score, but it really helped us to score fast. That gave us a lot of momentum.”

Place Kicker Trevor Cook

On what his mind-set was before lining up for the potential winning field goal:
“I was just thinking relax and put it through like I always have.”

On what happened on that kick:
“I jumped a bit early and pushed it wide right. It was just a mental breakdown that cost us the game, but that was last week and we are looking forward to Cincinnati now.”

On how his ankle was feeling:
“My ankle is pretty much fine.”
