Act Now to Guarantee TCF Bank Stadium Seating

University of Minnesota Athletics Department officials announced Wednesday that just more than 300 season tickets remain available for purchase to guarantee a seat in TCF Bank Stadium for the 2009 season.

“We are extremely pleased with the response we’ve received from Gopher fans who want to make sure they have a seat for the inaugural football season in TCF Bank Stadium,” senior associate athletics director Tom Wistrcill said. “At this point, very few opportunities to lock in a guaranteed seat for next season remain and we expect these seats to be purchased very soon. As a result, we are strongly encouraging all fans who want to assure themselves a seat in the new stadium to purchase 2008 season tickets now.”

According to Wistrcill, purchasing season tickets for the Gophers’ remaining 2008 Big Ten Conference games is the only way for fans to guarantee themselves a non-premium seat in TCF Bank Stadium. The 2008 season tickets are priced at $250 per seat and include the battle for the Little Brown Jug vs. Michigan on Nov. 8 and the duel for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy vs. Iowa on Nov. 22.

In addition, Wistrcill said that once these remaining season tickets have been sold, only premium seating options will be available for purchase until after the seat selection process for TCF Bank Stadium has been completed. The seat selection process, which was introduced, along with the Gopher Points program, in May of 2008, is the final step in moving season ticket holders from the Metrodome to TCF Bank Stadium and is expected to be concluded by July 2009.

Fans interested in purchasing tickets may call the Athletics Department Ticket Office at (612) 624-8080 or toll free at 1-800-U-GOPHER between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
