The Minnesota volleyball team remained No. 12 in the CSTV/AVCA Top 25 poll, which was released on Monday, Oct. 13. The Golden Gophers received 860 points in this week’s poll.

Minnesota has been ranked among the top 12 teams in the nation in six of the eight weeks of the poll this season.

This past week, the Golden Gophers defeated Indiana in three sets and lost to No. 1 Penn State at Williams Arena in three sets. Minnesota enters the week with a 6-2 record against ranked opposition. The eight matches against ranked opposition and the six wins over ranked teams both are the best among teams in the top 25.

The Golden Gophers are among six Big Ten teams that were ranked in this week’s poll. Penn State is No. 1, Illinois is No. 17, Wisconsin is ranked at No. 19, Purdue is No. 21 and Michigan is No. 22. The Big Ten is second to the Pac-10 for the most teams in the top 25 with six.

Minnesota will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. when it hosts Iowa. That match can be seen live on the Big Ten Network. The Golden Gophers will also host Michigan State on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. That match can be seen on ESPN 2 on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 12 p.m. (CT).
