Minnesota Volleyball Team Ranked No. 17 in AVCA Poll

The Minnesota volleyball team is ranked No. 17 in the CSTV/AVCA Top 25 poll, which was released on Monday, Nov. 3. The Golden Gophers received 558 points in this week’s poll.
Minnesota has been ranked No. 17 or better in every poll this season. The Golden Gophers are the third-highest ranked team in the Big Ten.
This past week, Minnesota lost in three sets at No. 1 Penn State, and dropped a five-set match at Indiana. The Golden Gophers have now had 10 matches against ranked opposition this year.
Minnesota is among five Big Ten teams that were ranked in this week’s poll. Penn State is No. 1, Illinois is No. 16, Purdue is No. 18 and Michigan is No. 20. The Big Ten has the second most teams behind the Pac-10 in the top 25 with six.
The Golden Gophers will be back in action when they host No. 18 Purdue on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. Minnesota will also host No. 16 Illinois in the Sports Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. Both matches can be heard live on gophersports.com.
