NFL Network and Comcast announced today that an agreement has been reached to allow subscribers in the Twin Cities market to watch the 2008 Insight Bowl between Minnesota and Kansas on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 5 p.m. (CST).
According to NFL Network, Comcast has accepted an offer to air a 24-hour free preview of the network. The free preview includes the national cablecast of the Insight Bowl and will be available to all Comcast customers who subscribe to at least the “Digital Starter” tier of service, which currently includes 65 percent of expanded basic households.
“We appreciate that NFL Network and Comcast have come together to provide Gopher fans with the opportunity to enjoy the Insight Bowl,” said senior associate athletics director Tom Wistrcill. “We expect it to be a great game between teams from two great conferences and we are pleased that more of our fans will be able to see the game thanks to this agreement.”
Comcast subscribers in the Twin Cities can tune to channel 180 for the 24-hour free preview of NFL Network on Dec. 31 beginning at 4:00 p.m. (CST).
The Golden Gophers will depart the Minneapolis-St. Paul for Tempe, Ariz., in the late afternoon on Christmas Day and resume practices on Dec. 26. Minnesota will spend a week in the Valley of the Sun, practicing Dec. 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30.
