Hard-working defender who was a stalwart in the trenches throughout his prep career plays with a good motor and hustles to the ball three-star rated prospect by both Rivals and Scout rated by Rivals as the nation’s No. 54 strongside defensive end and the No. 15 overall prospect from the state of Missouri received a position ranking of No. 68 nationally from Scout listed as the No. 7 recruit in the St. Louis Metro area by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Hazelwood East High School, where he was the top player in the Suburban North League helped lead the Spartans to an 8-2 record as a senior in 2007 recorded 69 tackles, five sacks and two fumble recoveries earned first team Class 5 all-state accolades from the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and the Missouri Football Coaches Association named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro first team and the St. Louis American all-area first team Ranked second in the St. Louis Metro area in total tackles as a junior in 2006 with 93, including 50 solo stops, while helping lead Hazelwood East to an 8-3 mark earned first team all-state honors from the Missouri Football Coaches Association also a first team All-Metro pick by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a first team All-Suburban North Conference honoree coached by Corey Johnson.
RECRUITING: Selected Minnesota over offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas State, LSU and Mississippi.
PERSONAL: Brandon Kirksey was born June 22, 1989 son of Felicia Kirksey.
