Sensational athlete with outstanding physical tools possesses excellent size and speed has been clocked at 4.5 in the 40 considered the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 4 overall player in the state of Kansas by Rivals Rivals also rates him as the No. 69 receiver in the nation ranked as the nation’s No. 95 wide receiver nationally by Scout Received three-stars from by both Rivals and Scout played quarterback, running, wide receiver and defensive back as a prep, but projects as a wide receiver on the college level.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Garden City High School in Garden City, Kan rushed for 1,446 yards and 20 touchdowns and passed for 700 yards and four scores in 2007 as the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback earned first team Class 6A All-State honors from the Kansas Football Coaches Association, the Wichita Eagle and the Topeka Capital-Journal also a second-team Top 11 (all classes) pick by the Capital-Journal the 2007 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year Garden City Telegram all-area (all class) selection in both 2006 and 2007 Rushed for a school-record 361 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-28 win over Dodge City High School had a 93-yard interception return for a score against Wichita Northwest rushed for 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns and passed for 700 yards and six TDs as a junior earned all-state honors as a defensive back in 2006 an honorable mention all-league selection as a sophomore Coached by Mike Smith also a standout on the hardwood as a prep, earning all-state accolades in 2006.
RECRUITING: Selected Minnesota over offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Illinois, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oregon and Wyoming.
PERSONAL: Brodrick Smith was born Dec. 20, 1989 Son of Laura Smith and Lawrence Tolbert Father lettered three seasons as a wide receiver at Kansas State plans to major in business or communications.
