Series Notes

-The Gophers narrowed their deficit in the all-time series against Illinois to 28-22 in favor of the Illini. Minnesota, however, is 14-9 all-time against Illinois in Minneapolis.
-With the win, coach Pam Borton moves within three victories of her 200th career win.
-The Gophers' eight turnovers were a season-low.

Team Notes

-The Gophers held the Illini to 21 of 54 (38%) from the floor. Minnesota moves to 7-0 this season when holding their opponent to under 40% shooting from the field.
-Minnesota moves to 8-1 when four or more Gophers are in double figures.
-In games decided by five points or less, Minnesota improves to 2-3 this season while the Illini fall to 3-5.

Individual Notes

-With a game-high 20 points, Ashley Ellis-Milan broke the 20 point barrier for the fourth time in her career and the second time this season. The sophomore led her team in scoring for the third time this season.
-Ellis-Milan scored in double figures for the 15th time this season and 33rd time in her career.
-Emily Fox rebounded from a pair of shaky shooting performances on the road to score 16 points. Tonight's performance marked the 21st time this season the junior has been in double figures and it was the 44th time in her career she has reached double-digits.
-Fox has now finished in double figures in each of the Gophers' 12 home games this season.
-Katie Ohm was in double figures for the seventh time this season and 12th time in her career.
-Leslie Knight finished with 11 points, finishing in double figures for the 17th time this season and 32nd time in her career.
-Brittany McCoy dished out a game-high six assists. The Gophers are now 12-1 this season when McCoy finishes with at least 10 points or five assists.
