Minnesota Volleyball Goes 2-1 at Iowa State Spring Tournament

The Minnesota volleyball team went 2-1 in the Iowa State Spring Tournament on Saturday, Apr. 12.

Minnesota defeated Iowa State in three games by scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-19. The Golden Gophers also won in three games against Northern Iowa 25-22, 25-22, 25-23. Minnesota's only loss in the tournament came against Creighton 29-27, 25-23, 26-24.

The Golden Gophers finished tied with Iowa State at 2-1 in the tournament. Creighton was 1-1, while Northern Iowa finished 0-2.

Brook Dieter (Bloomington, Minn.) had 39 kills and hit .310 in the three matches, while Hailey Cowles (Eden Prairie, Minn.) had 36 kills and hit .340. As a team, Minnesota hit .281.

The Golden Gophers will return to action for their final spring tournament on Apr. 20 at the Sports Pavilion. All of the matches will be three games up to 25 points

Minnesota will host Marquette to start off the tournament from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. Iowa State will face North Dakota State from 10 to 11:20 a.m. Marquette will also face Iowa State from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.

In the afternoon session, Minnesota will face North Dakota State from 1:40 to 3 p.m. The Bison will then face Marquette from 3:10 to 4:30 p.m. The Golden Gophers will wrap up the tournament against Iowa State from 4:40 to 6 p.m.
