Minnesota Volleyball Olympians Day Three

Both Lindsey Berg and Nicole Branagh were in action in the Olympics at Beijing on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Branagh and her teammate Elaine Youngs advanced to the round of 16 by finishing the preliminary round 3-0. They fought off the tough Cuban team of Milagros Crespo and Imara Esteves in three games by scores of 21-19, 13-21 and 15-12. Branagh and Youngs will start the Round of 16 on Friday, Aug. 15.

Berg and U.S. Indoor team moved to 2-1 in pool play with a four-game victory over Venezuela by scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-14 and 25-18. The United States team will face host China on Friday, Aug. 15.
