Minnesota sophomore quarterback Adam Weber has earned Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career. The Big Ten announced its weekly football awards this morning.
Weber was 21-of-25 for 233 yards with three touchdowns last Saturday at Bowling Green. He also rushed for 13 yards and a score against the Falcons. At one point, he had completed 12 consecutive passes. His quarterback rating was an astounding 201.89 for the game. Weber also won the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award for his week two effort last year against Miami (Ohio).
Weber shared this week's honor with a pair of running backs. Michigan State's Javon Ringer and Penn State's Evan Royster were also honored. The defensive player of the week was Iowa defensive end Karl Klug. Special teams accolades went to Purdue's Frank Halliburton, who blocked two punts against Northern Colorado.
