Lamoureuxs Named WCHA Co-Players of the Week

After their performance against Bemidji State last weekend, Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux were named WCHA Co-Offensive Players of the Week. Together, the twin sisters from Grand Forks, N.D., combined for nine of the Gophers’ 16 goals in two victories over Bemidji State.
Jocelyne Lamoureux led the No. 1 Gophers in the series sweep over Bemidji State. In Friday’s 5-1 win over the Beavers, Jocelyne scored a goal and two assists. On her second assist of the game, she set up her sister, Monique, for the game-winning goal. Jocelyne found the net at 17:58 in the third period to score a power-play goal. On Saturday, Jocelyne netted her first-career hat trick and set a career-high six points in the game in the 11-1 win over BSU. Jocelyne scored the gamewinner on Saturday and added her other two goals in the third period for the hat trick. On the weekend, Jocelyne led the team with a plus/minus rating of +8.
Monique Lamoureux scored five goals and three assists for eight points in the sweep over Bemidji. She started the series with two goals en route to a 5-1 win last Friday. She scored both of her goals in the first period at 11:43 and 17:13, which was later the game-winner. On Saturday, Monique tied a career-high six points and scored her first career hat trick. Monique scored on the Gophers’ opening shift just :19 seconds into the contest. She added a goal in the second and in the third period. Monique was +7 in the weekend.
