Big Ten Conference officials announced Monday that Minnesota's Nov. 7 football game against Illinois at TCF Bank Stadium will kick off at 11 a.m. (CT) and be televised by the Big Ten Network.
It is one of five games involving Big Ten teams that will start at 11 a.m. (CT) that day, four of which will be televised live by the league's network.
The game will mark the Gophers' first appearance on the BTN since their victory at Northwestern in late September and just the third time Minnesota has been televised by the network overall this season.
Last year, Minnesota defeated Illinois in Champaign and became bowl eligible with its sixth victory of the season. The Gophers could be in a similar position again two weekends from now. A victory over Michigan State Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium would position Minnesota to pick up its sixth win of the season vs. the Illini for the second consecutive year.
The Gophers, 32-27-3 all time vs. the Illini, have fared well against Illinois in recent years, taking seven of the last nine games, including last season's 27-20 victory on the road.
