The Minnesota volleyball team (17-7, 8-4) is ranked No. 12 for the week of Nov. 2 in the AVCA poll. The Golden

Gophers received 840 points this week in the poll.

Minnesota has been ranked for 27 consecutive weeks in the top 25 poll. The school record came from Oct. 20, 2003 to Sept. 4, 2006 when they were ranked in 40 straight polls. The Golden Gophers are one of only eight teams this year to have been ranked No. 13 or higher in every poll this year.

Last week, Minnesota dropped a pair of matches at No. 1 Penn State and Ohio State. The matchup with Penn State was the Golden Gophers' ninth against ranked opposition this year, and their fifth against top 10 opposition.

Minnesota is one of four Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 this week. The Golden Gophers are joined by No. 1 Penn

State, No. 5 Illinois and No. 15 Michigan.

The Golden Gophers will be back in action when they host Indiana on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. That match will be streamed live on the BigTenNetwork.com. Minnesota will also host Purdue on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. in a match that will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Both matches can be heard live on the Gold Zone.
