Minnesota Ranked No. 13 in AVCA Poll

The Minnesota volleyball team (22-8, 13-5) is ranked No. 13 for the week of Nov. 23 in the AVCA poll. The Golden Gophers received 732 points this week in the poll.

Minnesota has been ranked for 30 consecutive weeks in the top 25. The school record came from Oct. 20, 2003 to Sept. 4, 2006 when they were ranked in 40 straight polls. The Golden Gophers are one of only seven teams in the nation this year to have been ranked No. 13 or higher in every poll this year.

Last week, Minnesota lost at No. 14 Michigan in three sets, and rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Michigan State in five sets.

Minnesota is one of four Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 this week. The Golden Gophers are joined by No. 1 Penn State, No. 5 Illinois and No. 12 Michigan.

The Golden Gophers will wrap up regular-season play at home against Northwestern on Friday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. Minnesota will also face No. 5 Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. Both matches can be heard live on the Gold Zone.

The NCAA Selection Show will take place on Sunday, Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. on ESPNews. Minnesota will host the NCAA Regionals on Dec. 11 and 12. The NCAA Regional Semifinals matches on Friday, Dec. 11 will take place at 5 and 7 p.m. On Saturday, the NCAA Regional Final match will be at 5:30 p.m. That match can be seen live on ESPNU.
