Jocelyne Lamoureux has been named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week for her performance against Wisconsin last weekend. It is her third conference honor of the year and the team’s 12th time receiving a weekly WCHA award this season.
Lamoureux scored three goals and one assist for four points to defeat and tie the then-No. 1 Badgers last weekend. Lamoureux scored two goals in the 4-2 win. Lamoureux set the tone for Saturday’s game scoring 1:27 into the contest. She added the first assist to Emily West’s goal to put the Gophers up, 2-0 and followed with the eventual game-winner on an unassisted goal at 11:29 in the second period. On Sunday, the Gophers were down 2-1 after the second period and Lamoureux tied the game 45 seconds into the third. On the weekend, Lamoureux had 12 shots, and a team-best +5 rating.
Lamoureux and the rest of the Golden Gophers host North Dakota this weekend. Friday’s game is at 6:07 p.m., while Saturday’s game is at 4:07 p.m., both at Ridder Arena.
