Minnesota Football Coaches Clinic Begins Thursday

University of Minnesota head coach Tim Brewster and former Super Bowl Champion head coach Brian Billick are the featured speakers at this year’s Minnesota Football Coaches Clinic. The clinic is slated for Thursday through Saturday.
Billick and Brewster will both speak Friday night. Billick coached the Baltimore Ravens to the Super Bowl XXXV Championship in the 2000 NFL season. Prior to his tenure with the Ravens, Billick was the offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings. Before moving on to the NFL, he coached at the collegiate level with San Diego State, Utah State and Stanford.
In addition to Brewster and Billick, more than 30 speakers will be giving presentations during the three-day clinic.
Other notable coaches who will speak include: Jerry Sandusky (retired Penn State defensive coordinator); Marc Trestman (NCAA Champion, Super Bowl Champion, 2008 Canadian Football League Coach of the Year); Bob Nielson (Minnesota-Duluth, 2008 NCAA Division II Champions); Kalen DeBoer (University of Sioux Falls, 2006, 2008 NAIA National Champions); Matt Weikert (Air Force Academy Linebackers Coach); George Curry (Wyoming Valley West Pa. High School, USA Today National Champions); Jim Rackley (Judson, Texas High School, state championship coach); and Steve Specht (St. Xavier, Ohio High School, two-time state championship coach, 2009 Team USA defensive coordinator).
Most of the clinic will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in St. Louis Park. On Saturday afternoon, the clinic will transition to the University of Minnesota campus. Tours of TCF Bank Stadium will take place at Noon, with position demonstrations and Gopher practice at the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex wrapping up the event later in the afternoon.
