Soccer Announces Schedule Changes

The University of Minnesota soccer team has announced some slight changes to their 2009 schedule. The Golden Gophers will now open the season with a home match against the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State University on Aug. 21.
The SDSU match is moved up from it’s original date of Sept 8th. Minnesota now gets to begin their defense of the 2008 Big Ten title at home, rather than on the road as was originally scheduled.
The rest of the schedule remains the same, including the Golden Gophers early season road trip to Georgia and Kennesaw State on Aug. 28 and 30 respectively.
The Big Ten season will then open up as scheduled, with a Sept. 24th home date against Iowa at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.
