We started our day off just like every other with a delicious breakfast catered by our favorite cooks Bill and Frida. We then proceeded to our morning practice where we did low-impact drills in order to save our legs and arms for the afternoon. Our morning consisted of serving, serve receive and defensive movements while recognizing down balls, free balls, and shots.
After lunch, the team went their separate ways and chose to either take a relaxing nap like I did, or to stay up and watch the “movie of the day”, Twilight. In the afternoon, the team played four competitive sets in front of our awesome Golddiggers (Booster Club) and family. I think the whole gym could see that it’s going to be an exciting season for the Gopher volleyball team!
Finally, we closed the night out with a meal with the Golddiggers where we were able to introduce ourselves and talk about the upcoming season. The Golddiggers also got the wonderful opportunity to hear the lovely voices of our newcomers as they sang the traditional rouser! OFF DAY TOMORROW!
