The 19th ranked University of Minnesota soccer team opens the 2009 season at 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 21.
There will be no easing into the season, as Minnesota hosts 2008 NCAA Tournament team South Dakota State in the opener. In addition to the top-notch soccer on the field, it will be Minnesota Campers Day and Facebook Friends Day on Friday. Minnesota Soccer Camp participants get free admission while their parents get through the gates for only $1.00. Also, the first 500 fans on Facebook (as of 4:00 pm, Aug. 20) get two free admissions and a free t-shirt.
For the fans who can not make it to Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium on Friday, you can still catch all the action from the Robbie.
GopherSports.com will be providing a live in-game blog for fans to follow along with at home. Be sure to check back here just before game-time to follow along.
Live stats will also be available to Golden Gopher soccer fans, as well as the live video feed in the Gold Zone. Each will also become available just before game-time.
The Robbie will be rockin' at 6:00 p.m. on Friday for the Golden Gophers and Jackrabbits, but for those near or far not in attendance, GopherSports.com has you covered.
