POSTGAME NOTES
No. 7/8 Cal (3-0) 35, Minnesota (2-1) 21

Team Notes
• This was the sixth meeting between Minnesota and Cal. The Golden Bears lead the series by a 4-2 count. This was the first meeting since 2006, when Cal won 42-17 in Berkeley.
• Minnesota is 24-23-2 versus current members of the Pac-10 Conference. The Gophers have played every Pac-10 school at least once.
• The Gophers had a six-game regular season winning streak versus non-conference foes snapped.
• Today’s game is the third game overall and the second home game of the 126th season of football for the University of Minnesota. The Gophers’ all-time record stands at 636-457-44.
• No. 7/8 Cal was the first top-10 ranked non-conference opponent for Minnesota since the 1990 season (Sept. 22) when the Gophers played at No. 8 Nebraska.
• Cal was the first nationally ranked non-conference opponent the Gophers have hosted since No. 23 Syracuse on Sept. 21, 1996. The last top-10 ranked non-conference opponent to play at Minnesota was No. 3 Nebraska on Sept. 23, 1989.
• Cal’s first 10 rushes of the game accounted for 100 yards (and two TDs), the Golden Bears’ next 10 gained only 10 yards. Rush attempt 21 for Cal – a 27-yard TD by Jahvid Best.
• Minnesota held Cal to just 22 yards of total offense in the third quarter.
• Cal was shut out in the third quarter, the first quarter this season that the Golden Bears did not score.
Individual Notes
• Eric Decker’s 26 yard touchdown reception early in the second quarter (14:52) was his 198th catch of his career (his 21st of the season) tying the Minnesota record held by Ron Johnson (1998-01). The touchdown was Decker’s first of the season.
• Decker added his second TD catch of the game (a 12-yarder) in the second quarter. He now has 21 TD catches in his Gopher career. The catch set the Minnesota record with 199 catches. Decker finished the game with eight catches, for 204 in his career.
• With two TD catches, Decker recorded his third career game with multiple TD catches.
• Decker added a TD pass (the second of his career) – a 7-yarder to MarQueis Gray in the third quarter to tie the game at 21-21.
• Freshman MarQuis Gray, the Gophers’ No. 2 quarterback, scored his first collegiate touchdown on the catch
• Adam Weber went 21-for-32 passing. Weber owns the Minnesota career completion mark with 573 completions in his Gopher career.
• Decker finished with 8 catches and 119 receiving yards, his 10th 100-plus receiving yards game (third of season – a school-record fourth consecutive) of his career.
• Decker extended his consecutive games with a reception streak to 29 games. The streak is the sixth-longest in the nation. Decker ranks second in Minnesota history in career receiving yards with 2,776, (trailing Ron Johnson (1998-01) with 2,989).
• Linebacker Nate Triplett‘s 10 tackles led the Gopher defense. It is the second time this season Triplett has topped the Gophers in tackles and his second straight game with 10 or more stops.
• Senior punter Blake Haudan punted seven times vs. Cal averaging 42.1 yards a kick in his first collegiate punts. He booted a career-long 54 yard punt in the third quarter.
