Sarah Erickson didn’t score a goal, but tallied seven assists – including one on both game-winning goals – in Minnesota’s WCHA series sweep over the No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes last weekend.

From Roseau, Minn., Erickson contributed three assists in the host Golden Gophers’ 5-2 win over the Buckeyes last Friday (Jan. 8). With UM trailing 2-1 in the second period, she set up Megan Bozek’s power-play goal that tied the game at 4:01 and then assisted on teammate Emily West’s game-winner at the 8:15 mark. On Saturday (Jan. 9), Erickson had a part in four of Minnesota’s six goals en route to a 6-0 win over OSU. She held the first assist in three of the four goals and helped set up West’s winner. In the weekend series, her seven points led the team and she also fired seven shots on goal and earned a +5 plus/minus rating.

On the 2009-10 season, Erickson has 26 points (12g, 14a) while playing in all 22 games. Twenty-five of her 26 points have come against WCHA teams and she currently shares the league lead in points, along with teammate Emily West.
