Rue Repeats as Big Ten Top Field Event Performer

Golden Gopher All-American Alicia Rue captured back-to-back Big Ten Field Event Athlete of the Week honors as she continues to add to her already impressive resume as one of the best Big Ten athletes of the 2010 season.
Rue earned her second consecutive Big Ten weekly honor by bettering her own school record in the pole vault to win the Jack Johnson Classic title with a leap of 14 feet, 4 1/2 inches. The Plymouth, Minn., native has cleared 14 feet and marked NCAA automatic qualifiers in every meet this season.
Rue has earned the Big Ten weekly awards 11 times in her Gopher career. This is her seventh award during the indoor season and second of the 2010 campaign.
