Gophers Host "Dig Pink" Event on Oct. 24

The Minnesota volleyball team will host the "Dig Pink" event on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. in conjunction with its match against Wisconsin at Williams Arena.

Fans will be able to donate to "Dig Pink" as they enter the arena. All proceeds will go to the fight against Breast Cancer. It will be the third year in a row that the Gophers will host the "Dig Pink" event.

There will also be a special in which general admission tickets will be $1 to for the "Battle in the Barn" featuring the Gohpers and Badgers. Along with the $1 general admission, any fans who bring tickets stubs from the Minnesota-Penn State football game on Saturday, Oct. 23 can get into the Minnesota-Wisconsin match for free in the general admission section.

It marks the seventh year in a row that the Gophers have gone over to Williams Arena to play match. On two occasions, Minnesota has packed Williams Arena with over 10,000 fans. The Gophers had 10,927 fans in a victory over Illinois on Oct. 16, 2004, and had 10,126 fans in a loss to No. 1 Penn State on Oct. 11, 2008.
