SERIES NOTES

  • Today's game was the 67th all-time meeting between the Golden Gophers and Boilermakers.
  • With the loss, Minnesota's lead in the all-time series slipped to 33-31-3.
  • The Gophers are 4-19 all-time at Purdue.
  • The Gophers had won two in a row over Purdue entering today's game, including a 17-6 victory in their last visit to Ross-Ade Stadium in 2008.

 

TEAM NOTES

  • Minnesota fell to 1-6 overall, 0-3 Big Ten, and 1-2 on the road with today's loss.
  • The Gophers last started a season 1-6 during the 2007 campaign.
  • Purdue is just the second team on the Gophers' 2010 schedule not to play in a bowl game last year.
  • The Gophers are now 3-11 Big Ten road games under Coach Tim Brewster and 6-21 overall in league matchups.
  • Brewster's record against Purdue is now 2-2.

 

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

  • Quarterback Adam Weber's TD pass to Bryant Allen was Weber's 13th TD toss of the season and the 65th of his career. He added No. 14 to Da'Jon McKnight with 3:00 to go in the game for his 66th career TD pass.
  • Weber threw for 214 yards today, giving him 9,900 passing yards for his career. The total moved him past Michigan's Chad Henne (9,715) into sole possession of sixth place in Big Ten history.
  • Weber also led the Gophers in rushing with seven carries for 42 yards.
  • Bryant Allen hauled in his first career touchdown pass from 11 yards out with 12:17 to play in the fourth quarter. Allen's four receptions today were a career-high.
  • Da'Jon McKnight finished with six catches for a career-high 123 yards. He now has a reception in 12 straight games for the Gophers.
  • Redshirt freshman defensive end Kendall Gregory-McGhee made his first career start today.
  • With five receptions for 42 yards today, Eric Lair has now had multiple receptions in every game this season.
  • Junior Troy Stoudermire made his 11th career start. It was the first of his career at cornerback. The previous 10 all came as a wide receiver. He finished the game with seven tackles.
  • Gary Tinsley snagged his first career interception during the third quarter and finished the game with a team-high 10 tackles.
  • Keanon Cooper registered his second nine-tackle game of the season, one shy of a career best.
  • Jewhan Edwards collected 1.5 tackles for loss today and now has a team-high eight for the season.
  • Johnny Johnson returned his first career kickoff return for 35 yards during the third quarter.
  • Place-kicker Eric Ellestad connected on a 35-yard field goal with 5:00 to play in the third quarter to get the Gophers on the scoreboard. He is now 7 of 11 on field goal tries this year. It was his 20 career field goal.
