Gophers in the Pros: Week Six

Laurence Maroney and Marion Barber III had significant impacts rushing the ball for their respective teams in week six of the NFL regular season. Meanwhile, former Gopher Ben Hamilton continued to help anchor a solid Seattle Seahawks offensive line that controlled the ball against the Chicago Bears.
- Laurence Maroney - RB - Denver Broncos
Maroney finished the day with 18 yards rushing on seven carries at the Broncos fell the New York Jets 24-20.
- Barber III, Marion - RB - Dallas Cowboys
The starting Cowboys running back had 31 yards on 10 carries as the Cowboys fell to the Minnesota Vikings 24-21.
- Barber, Dominique - S - Houston Texans
Barber had one tackle in Houston's 35-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
- White, Stylez G. - DE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
White had two tackles, including one solo effort in the Buccaneers' 31-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
- Decker, Eric - WR - Denver Broncos
Decker was active but did not record any statistics in the Broncos' 24-20 loss to the New York Jets.
- Hamilton, Ben - G - Seattle Seahawks
Hamilton got the start at left guard, helping Seattle run for 111 yards on the ground in the Seahawks' 23-20 win over the Chicago Bears.
- Spaeth, Matt - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers tight end was active but did not record any statistics in Pittsburgh's 28-10 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Besides having an impact in the NFL, former Gophers continue to have an impact in the Canadian Football League.
- Bruce III, Arland - WR - Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Bruce continues to be a major factor in the Tiger-Cats' offense as he had five receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown as Hamilton beat Toronto 30-3.
- Middlebrooks, Willie - DB - Toronto Argonauts
Middlebrooks had four tackles for the Argonauts in their loss to the Tiger-Cats.
In addition to those who were on active rosters, two former Gophers spent last weekend on the practice squad for their respective NFL teams. Marcus Sherels is on the practice squad for the Minnesota Vikings, and Traye Simmons is with the San Diego Chargers' practice squad. Meanwhile, Mark Setterstrom remains on the physically unable to perform list of the St. Louis Rams.
