Whalen Gets Shot at World Championship

Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic -- The USA National Team (8-0) soundly defeated Spain, 106-70, in the Semifinals of the 2010 FIBA World Championship on Saturday to advance to Sunday's championship game. The USA team will face the host country in the title matchup, with a Gold Medal on the line. The Czech Republic advanced with an 81-77 win against Belarus.

Former University of Minnesota All-America guard Lindsay Whalen finished with six points, two rebounds, one steal, and one blocked shot in the convincing win versus the Spaniards. Tamika Catchings paced the USA National Team with 14 points.
