Gophers in the Pros: Week Seven

Former Gopher and Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver saw his first offensive action of the season as he got a shot as a kick-returner. Other week seven Gophers in the pros highlights include Stylez White having a sack for Tampa Bay in helping the Buccaneers achieve a come back victory.
  • Decker, Eric - WR - Denver Broncos
    In his debut for the Broncos on offense, Decker recorded one kick return for 23 yards as Denver fell to the Oakland Raiders 59-14.
  • Laurence Maroney - RB - Denver Broncos
    Maroney was active but did not record any statistics in the Broncos' loss.
  • White, Stylez G. - DE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    White had three tackles including one solo effort and a sack as the Buccaneers came from behind to defeat the St. Louis Rams 18-17.
  • Hamilton, Ben - G - Seattle Seahawks
    Hamilton continued to maintain his position as starting left guard for Seattle as the Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 22-10.
  • Spaeth, Matt - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
    The Steelers' tight end was active and was targeted once, but did not record any statistics in Pittsburgh's 23-22 win over the Miami Dolphins.
  • Barber III, Marion - RB - Dallas Cowboys
    Barber finished the day with six rushing yards on four carries. He also had one reception out of the backfield for seven yards as the Cowboys fell to the New York Giants 41-35 on Monday night.
  • Barber, Dominique - S - Houston Texans
    The Texans did not play due to their bye week.

Besides having an impact in the NFL, former Gophers continue to have an impact in the Canadian Football League.

  • Bruce III, Arland - WR - Hamilton Tiger-Cats
    Bruce had one reception for 12 yards as the Tiger-Cats destroyed Montreal 40-3.
  • Middlebrooks, Willie - DB - Toronto Argonauts
    Middlebrooks had four tackles for the Argonauts in their 27-8 win over Winnipeg.

In addition to those who were on active rosters, two former Gophers spent last weekend on the practice squad for their respective NFL teams. Marcus Sherels is on the practice squad for the Minnesota Vikings, and Traye Simmons is with the San Diego Chargers' practice squad. Meanwhile, Mark Setterstrom remains on the physically unable to perform list of the St. Louis Rams.
