Series Notes

Tonight's game was the 50^th gridiron meeting between the University of Minnesota and Ohio State University, with the Buckeyes holding a 43-7 advantage.
The Gophers' last win against OSU in Minneapolis was a 35-31 victory against the 18^th-ranked Buckeyes on Nov. 7, 1981, in the next-to-the-last game played at Memorial Stadium.
#10 Ohio State is the first Big Ten team ranked among the Top 10 to play at TCF Bank Stadium, and the Buckeyes were also the last Top 10 conference team to visit Minneapolis. The #8 Buckeyes recorded a 30-7 win at the Metrodome on Sept. 29, 2007. Eighth-ranked California was the first Top 10 team to visit TCF Bank Stadium, recording a 35-21 win on Sept. 13, 2009.

Team Notes

Minnesota is 4-9 all-time at TCF Bank Stadium.
Minnesota's opening drive covered 74 yards in just four plays and 1:41, ending in a seven-yard touchdown run by DeLeon Eskridge. It was the Gophers' quickest opening possession scoring drive this season.
The Gophers are 21-46-1 all-time against teams from Ohio - 2-1 versus Bowling Green State, 1-0 versus Kent State, 1-0 versus Miami (Ohio), 8-1-1 versus Ohio, 7-43 versus Ohio State, and 2-1 versus Toledo.
OSU was the seventh of nine 2009 Bowl participants the Gophers will face this season.
The Gophers allowed 50+ points for the first time since losing by a score of 55-0 to Iowa on Nov. 22, 2008.

Individual Notes

Senior QB Adam Weber passed for 162 yards versus OSU, giving him 10,361 for his career. One of just five Big Ten QBs to have reached that mark, Weber trails only Purdue's Drew Brees (11,792) and Curtis Painter (11,163), Northwestern's Brett Basanez (10,580), and Iowa's Chuck Long (10,461).
Weber made his 47^th consecutive start, the longest such streak in the nation for a signal-caller.
Weber completed his first three passes on the opening drive of the game, all covering 30-plus yards. The passes went to MarQueis Gray (35 yards), Tiree Eure (32 yards), and Da'Jon McKnight (32 yards).
McKnight extended his consecutive games streak with at least one reception to 13, but he was limited to just one catch for 36 yards in the game, and had a streak of three-straight games with a TD reception snapped.
Senior safety Ryan Collado thwarted an OSU scoring opportunity by intercepting a Terrelle Pryor pass in the end zone just one play after a 70-yard punt return by the Buckeyes' Jordan Hall. The interception was the second of the season for Collado, and the third of his career.
Collado tied his season and career-high for tackles in a game with 11 (six solo) stops.
Sophomore linebacker Keanon Cooper also registered a double-digit tackle total, making 10 tackles (six solo).
Junior RB DeLeon Eskridge had a long rush of 20 yards, giving the Gophers five runs of 20 or more yards in their nine games this season. Last year, Minnesota had just six runs of 20 or more yards.
Eskridge ran the ball 23 times for 79 yards and a touchdown, his third scoring run of the season.
MarQueis Gray led the Gophers with three catches for 81 yards in the game.
Junior cornerback Troy Stoudermire returned five kickoffs for 144 yards, an average of 28.8 yards per return, with a long of 38 yards.

Dan Herron finished with a career-high 114 yards on 17 attempts and a touchdown - all in the first half. It marked the first 100-yard rushing game of Herron's career. His previous career high was 97 against Iowa last season.
Dan Herron has now scored at least one touchdown in eight consecutive games.
Ohio State is 16-3 when Dan Herron scores a rushing TD in his career.
Terrelle Pryor is now 27-4 as Ohio State's starting quarterback.
Terrelle Pryor completed 10 consecutive passes in the game, the third time he has completed 10 or more in a row this season. He had 11 against Indiana and a school-record 16 against Eastern Michigan.
Terrelle Pryor became the third Buckeye to surpass 7,000 total yards and also passed Bobby Hoying (7,151 yards) for second place on Ohio State's all-time list. Pryor has 7,275 yards of total offense in his career and now trails Art Schlichter's Ohio State record of 8,850 yards.
Terrelle Pryor threw the 49^th and 50^th TD passes of his career, tying him with Art Schlichter for fourth on Ohio State's all-time list.
Terrelle Pryor accounted for three TDs in the game, giving him 69 in his career, which is now second on OSU's all-time list behind Art Schlichter (85).

DEFENSIVE NOTES

Chimdi Chekwa recorded his third interception of the season and the sixth of his career in the second quarter. Chekwa also recorded his first career sack and a caused a fumble, which was returned 30 yards for a touchdown by John Simon, the first touchdown of his career. It marked the first fumble return for a touchdown since Jermale Hines in 2008 at Michigan State.
Ohio State's Jonathan Newsome blocked a punt for a touchdown in third quarter, which was recovered by Zach Domicone in the end zone. It marked the first blocked punt for a TD since 2008 against Purdue and the first blocked punt overall since the Illinois game in 2008.
Brian Rolle recorded a career-high 1.5 sacks on the night, one of which he caused a fumble with Dexter Larimore and recovered himself in the third quarter.
Ohio State has allowed just eight 100-yard rushers since 2005, tied for the fewest among FBS teams with Boston College and Alabama.
Ohio State has allowed 10 points or fewer five times this season.
Ohio State has allowed fewer than 21 points 57 times since the start of 2005, the most among FBS teams in that span. Ohio State is 54-3 in those games.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Jordan Hall had a career-long 70-yard punt return in the second quarter. He also finished with 30 yards rushing on seven carries and had two catches for 13 yards.
