Super Senior Spotlight: Manager Tony Jakubiak

In an eight-part series, Gophersports.com will profile each of the team's seven seniors along with the program's long-time student manager. This week, we profile manager Tony Jakubiak.
Tony Jakubiak is in his third season working with the Minnesota women's soccer team as an undergraduate manager assisting in all aspects of the Golden Gopher soccer program. His primary responsibilities include assisting in training during practice and game days, handling the team's filming needs and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the soccer program.
Jakubiak got his start at Minnesota working as a practice player for the women's team while also playing for two years with the nationally ranked Minnesota men's club soccer team.
A Milwaukee, Wis. native, Jakubiak earned all-conference honors in both soccer and tennis and was a seven-time letter winner at New Berlin Eisenhower High School. He also competed with Elm Grove United club team.
"Tony has meant the world to our program these past three years. His loyalty and commitment to the team have been unmatched. Our team and coaching staff are so grateful for all that he has done for our program. He helps this program run on a daily basis and also brings an enthusiasm and energy that is contagious for our team. I am so grateful for the sacrifices he has made for Minnesota Soccer. He is a special part of the Minnesota Soccer program."
Outside of soccer, Jakubiak has been a world traveler - visiting 15 countries on three continents. He spent this past summer in India launching a social venture after a he and a group of students from the university won an international business competition, and Jakubiak plans on visiting Isreal and Jordan next year through the university studying science and technology in the Middle East.
Jakubiak will graduate this year with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering.
